Banknote Ethics Initative (BnEI)

BnEI are an independent organisation committed to provide ethical business practice, with a focus on the prevention of corruption and on compliance with anti-trust law within the banknote industry. During the last five years it has become the defacto standard within the banknote industry and is now relied on by governments, central banks and security printers to ensure their suppliers are compliant with the highest ethical standards.

Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC)

The PEFC is the world’s largest forest certification system, promoting sustainable forest management and helping to protect the world’s trees. This certification assures clients buying from Bathford Mill that the security paper they received has been produced from sustainable and ethically sourced wood pulp.

CWA 15374: 2018 - Security management system for suppliers to the security printing industry

Portals is proud to have become the first organisation in the world to be audited and certified according to Intergraf’s upgraded CWA 15374: 2018, the leading standard for suppliers to the security print industry.

CWA 15374: 2018 specifies requirements for suppliers of products that include security features or for suppliers of services that ensure the physical security of printed matter manufactured by a security printing company.

IS045001: 2018 (Occupational Health & Safety)

The IS045001: 2018 framework provides guidance to improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks and create better, safer working conditions. Safety remains our number one priority at Portals and we are proud to meet the level of excellence recognised internationally by this standard.

IS014001: 2015 (Environmental Management Systems)

IS014001 specifies the requirements for an environmental management system, it allows organisations to manage environmental responsibilities, fulfil compliance obligations and meet environmental and sustainability objectives. As the one of the most recognised standards for environmental management systems, Portals is now marking the 15th year since first becoming certified to ISO 14001.
